MY STORY

Monica Goel
President and Co-Founder

My journey in accessibility began in late 2018, when I was asked to lead an Accessibility program. I knew absolutely nothing about accessibility—nothing. The moment I got off the phone, I turned to Google. I read articles, watched YouTube videos, and consumed TED talks. I saw how individuals with disabilities innovated to overcome challenges and create tools that made their lives easier.

One story that profoundly impacted me was about a French woman with movement in just one area of her cheek. With her husband's help, she created a keyboard she could control with that small movement. Using it, she managed her family’s schedules, groceries, appointments, and more. While her resilience amazed me, the story also highlighted a sobering reality: she had to build the device herself because no such solution existed. Disabilities are as unique as the people who live with them, and no single solution fits all. Companies often fail to recognize this, seeing people with disabilities as a monolith rather than as individuals with distinct abilities, strengths, and needs.

President and Co-Founder

Monica Goel

I am a seasoned technology executive with over 30 years of experience in the information technology space, with a deep and growing focus on accessibility over the past several years. For six years, I led the Digital Accessibility practice at CVS Health, where I built and scaled enterprise-wide accessibility programs, defining standards, policies, and methodologies that empowered teams to deliver inclusive digital experiences for all users.

My background spans engineering, infrastructure, and security, but my passion lies in transforming the digital landscape through accessibility. In the last six months, I founded Unified Accessibility, a company born from my own experience as an accessibility leader and the pressing need that I felt for better program visibility and operational control. Unified Accessibility is building the next-generation platform that enables organizations to manage accessibility at scale, offering centralized tracking across portfolios, metrics-driven dashboards, and insights by project, digital asset, and defect category—all in one unified place.

Driven by the belief that accessibility is both a responsibility and an opportunity, I’m committed to bringing the combined power of AI and Human Intelligence to deliver innovative, measurable, and sustainable accessibility outcomes that move the industry forward.

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida, where my research focused on applying machine learning to detect anomalies in autonomous vehicle data. With expertise spanning data analytics, machine learning, and full-stack development, I am dedicated to creating inclusive, innovative solutions that address complex challenges and ensure technology is accessible to all

I’m a Data Scientist and Software Engineer with a strong focus on Accessibility, AI, and data analytics. My work combines cutting-edge technology and user-centric solutions to create inclusive digital experiences for all. I specialize in applying machine learning and AI to enhance accessibility, such as improving computer vision for assistive technologies and optimizing processes to make data more accessible and actionable. I'm a seasoned technology leader with over 25 years of experience in Financial Services. As the CIO for Commercial and Private Banking at Flagstar Bank, one of the top 30 banks in the U.S., I spearheaded large-scale modernization initiatives, digital transformation projects, and process optimization. Previously, I held senior leadership roles at Ally Financial, where I successfully managed complex, distributed teams and drove innovation across Banking, Capital Markets, Commercial Finance, Risk, Audit, and Compliance.

I am a strong advocate for inclusive design across industries, ensuring technology solutions are accessible, equitable, and impactful for all users. My expertise in strategy, innovation, and fostering inclusivity positions me as a trusted advisor for organizations looking to navigate technological transformation and create meaningful, forward-looking solutions.
